Am I all set and ready to go? I also have the CV bottle, can I get doing requirements for that?

    Thanks

Hi Vinny, congrats on starting ZEOvit First a question--what size is your refugium & is some of that space displaced with LS or LR? Thnx. Bob

I have a 29g Sump and in it is the refugium which might be about 11g total in that area. 15 pounds of live sand is in with the refugium, but with no rock.

Thnx. Vinny, with ZEOvit be sure you test your Ca/Mg/KH & salinity, & these must remain in a very narrow range within the ZEOvit guidelines--Ca>400/Mg>1200/KH 6-8 & salinity 1.023-26, as I did not see those #'s. In addition do will need to test P04's. I estimate your net total volume to be ~90g. For your system which is No3's laden, I recommend the following:

1)dose 1 Cup carbon in a mesh-bag, passively in your refugium, kneaded 3x's/wk & exchanged monthly.
2)dose 1 ltr zeolites in a filter with the flow rate of ~75-100gph. Please do not exceed this. Cycle the stones on & off at 3hr. intervals, being careful the stones remain submerged when the filter is not running. Pump-clean the zeolites 1-2x's/day with about 10 reps each time when the filter is "on". Exchange the stones every 6wks.
3)dose 4 drops Bak/Food daily for 2wks. then dose 4 drops each 2x's/wk. Dose these[along with Start2] near the filter pump when it is "on". Turn off your skimmer for 60min after dosing these. ZeoBak & C-V are refrigerated.
4)dose Start2 .7ml 2x's/day daily. It is not necessary to turn off the skimmer when just dosing Start2.
5)dose AAHC 2 drops & C-V 8-10 drops daily, directly into the display tank. Ask questions as they appear. Bob

Do you mean start with 1 cup of carbon and shake it up 3x a week? I just want to clearify this.

Hi Vinny, yes message the entire bag thoroughly underwater. Bob

I cannot seem to upload the pic I took just now. I'll descrive it though...

I am going to use the Phosban Reactor as the Zeovit Reactor, but I have seemed to have lost the nylon screws for the reactor so I am going to run it without the lid and let the water overflow the reactor. The pump that I am currently using is the MJ900. It puts out 230gph. It runs about 1 foot from the reactor. Would that be enough head loss to have around the required 75-100gph?

Hi Vinny, I'd suggest a MJ 400 or 600, however, if you place a ball-valve inline between the pump[MJ 900] & filter turn the valve at ~45 degree angle, this would be a more appropriate flow rate. Bob

I seem to have run into another problem. First, the phosban reactor is not big enough to fit all of the zeorocks. Second the reactor is going to be so full that there will be no space to shake up the rocks. Also, the bag is already open, is there any harm in leaving them out of the bag without water?

I'm going to have to get a DIY project started. What size PVC would work best for holding 1 liter of zeorocks?

Maybe Madison or others who have made the zeo-reactors can jump in here with some info on DYI reactors, etc. Thnx. Bob
