  • New Marshall Island Rock

I just got this in this morning.

This is 41 lbs. fully cured Marshall Island live rock from Premium Aquatics.
It goes for $5.99/lb. under 40 lbs., $5.49/lb. over 40 lbs. I had it shipped 2nd Day Air from Indiana to Vermont. Shipping cost me $70 or $1.70/lb.

This is super sweet rock! No bad smell, and hardly any dead stuff on it. As you can see the coralline coverage is really nice, and the shapes are great. Also, very little rubble.

I would recommend this rock to anyone for an sps tank. I'll post pics in my tank later.

Premium Aquatics does sell really nice rock. I got 12 lbs uncured Marshall and Kaelini mixed to set up my nano, and I never saw any NH4 or NO3 at all during "curing". When it came it smelled like nice clean seawater. I was really pleasantly surprised.

Best part was it came out to about 5 or 6 bucks per lb - SHIPPED!! I recommend them whenever I get the chance...

Look at all the holes in that rock...couldnt LOTS of detrious accumilate inside those deep cracks....just a thought...

                        Edward,

same one. I wish I'd done this way back in August when I started zeovit, instead of trying to reuse my old rock Between using the old rock, restarting the tank with a bad bucket of Oceanic, and one or two other setbacks, it's been an interesting trip. You guys have been a great encouragement.

Things look good now, though, and I think I am on the right track. Now I just have to get the tank through my upcoming vacation. Fortunately, I have a very knowledgeable friend nearby, who is going to check in on it for me.
