  • Friday Night Fish Fights ???

    Hey Folks,

I was wondering if anyone else noticed aggression in their aquariums this afternoon and this evening.

My FO tank, and my reef tank both have alot of fish just going after each other left and right.

In my reef My Mandarin is actually chasing and nipping at a 6 line...

Is it just my house, or anyone else noticing some angry fish ?

No problems here either Dave. I found that the best way to limit aggression is to put so many fish in the tank that they have a hard time turning around without running into each other...

Well things have subsided in both my tanks.

Have no idea why all the fish were so pissy on Friday. Maybe they were excited about everyone coming to visit for the frag swap....

            Whatevah, calmness returns

Dave - Just could have been that time of the month.

Also - on the LA III reflectors, I have found that I like the bottom of the reflector about 7" above the water surface a little off center favoring the back given my rock structure and the light spread. This puts the bulbs a little under 10" from the water surface.

They were probably hung over from the party at my house Thursday.

Nevermind the 6-line went home with the Mandarin's date :p

Any oddness to the Moon's orbit? [I know certain times of year it's closer/farther ... and tides vary the same].
I figure corals know to spawn certain times in the wild [like a week after the first full moon in Sept ...], maybe fish are affected too?
