  • Ready to add Zeo to Reactor

I noticed in the ZEO bag that there were a lot of smaller particles. Do I need to use these?

If I do, my thought was that I would place the larger chunks on the bottom directly on the grate, and then place the real small ones in a filter bag on top of the larger ones. Cool?

Marc, remember, those different size of the stones are not only different granularity sizes. Those are different types of zeolite. If you left one type your, you can become different results. I would recommend to use all of them.

Because of the bag, please take a look at this thread:

        G-

I am using a DIY reactor, and the bag would only keep the small pieces from falling through the cracks. What I did instead is used that black mesh that DLS filter material is bound in and covered the grate with it. My grate holes were a little bigger than optimal...but adding the layer of mesh did the trick. Some of the finer rocks did make it to the bottom, and I'm sure that with regular pumping a few more will also. Hopefully I'll have my actual reactor before my 6 week stone swap and I can switch reactors at that time. But, for $25 my DIY is working rather well. I'll probably move it to my prop tanks in 6 weeks.
