  • Setting My Tank Up, AGAIN

    Well,

About 2 months ago I started having some really serious health problems at the age of 23. Lost 15 lbs. in 3 weeks, internal bleeding, throwing up constantly, you know all the good stuff. Luckily at the same time I was moving which made things all that much harder. As my health continued to decline and moving became harder and harder I made the decision that after 6 years I had to break down my fish tank because I was just too sick to move it.
Here I am now and am getting better. The doctors found out I have what is called Crohn's disease which is a fun but managable disease I will have for the rest of my life. My big problem now is I want to set my fish tank back up because I am soooo depressed without it. What a bummer this all had to happen. Starting over is going to be a pain in the butt and the wallet, but hey it's for the love of the sport.

Hi Brad, yes, Crohn's is manageable & I'm glad you're feeling better & beginning reefing again. Let me know if I can be of any help, Bob

Brad, good luck w/ the Crohn's. My cousin has been dealing w/ the disease since the age of maybe around 12. he now is 38. He is my best friend and I am somewhat familiar w/ the disease. The best thing I can tell you is do what the Dr. recommend to a "T". Watch what foods you have a reaction to and avoid them. If you would like I can get you in contact w/ him.
      Later,
      Chad

Good luck bud. My wife is ill right now & we're hoping its just a really bad case of viral spinal menengitis. In the last 6 days she has had spinal taps, MRI's, a catscan, dozens of blood test, urine and even nastier tests. Eight days of morphine, IV, trips to the ER, infectious disease, internal, neurological specialists .....

Yesterday I seriously almost sent an email for people to come get all my beautiful corals and fish. My wife wouldn't let me, although I'm still contemplating it.

So hang in there & i'll do the same.

I've been in the hosp all day & thank god for my Treo. :-)

              Thanks everyone,

I bought my substrate today and in the next couple of weeks I will put in an order for my live rock.

It's going to be a long process but one that will make me happy again.
