  • comeing up to my first change of stones

    Hi everyone,
I'm approaching my first change of stones at the weekend and would like advice on the doseing.
All parameters are good, po4 and no3 still undetectable. clearer water but as yet no difference in anything else. It's a 100 gal net system and if you remember, too many fish.
    cheers
    John

John, I didnt see much difference in my corals until after 2 months. I was also hoping that changing my stones would also lighten my corals, but it didnt. NOW.. after a few months and I think it was my 3rd stone change out, my corals lightened. You are on the right track adn take it slow.. I know of some people who are taking it faster and have suffered consequences because of it. If your water is clear and nice, then everything else will step into play over time as this is the first sign of a positive change.

      Cheers Invincible,
It's ok, I'm not getting impatient, just reporting what I see and so far everything is going as I expected, and I like the clear water.
I must admit I like the way that Zeo gets you into good habits, water changes, regular testing etc, it's something I'm ashamed to say I've been lax about in the past, :icon_redf but I'm getting in the habit now.
      all the best
      John

Thanks Guys, any advice for the next doseing regime? I'll be going up to the full 1 litre I imagine, what should I dose bak, food and start at?
Oh, and I'll increase the flow through my reactor to 100 gallons per hour.

Hi John, glad to hear that everything is stable For your system, I recommend the following: 1) dose 1ltr. zeolite at 100gph[400l/h] 2) dose 1 Cup of carbon 3) dose bak/food--3drops/3drops every other day with the new zeolites for 2wks. then dose 3drops/3drops 2x's/wk. 4) dose Start .5ml 2x's/day daily. Thanks for the info Bob, I've recently got a ph controler with a solinoid for my ca reactor, it's made control of my ca and alk so much easier. I'm switching stones at the weekend, I'll call for help if I get any probs, but I'm not expecting any.
