1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.)
115 gal
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.)
depends if I use LR or not
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
yes - MRC dual chamber
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
no
5. Are you using Ozone
no
6. Are you using UV
no
7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
Euro-Reef ES5-2 - will be doing the gate valve mod
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
1 250HQI 10K and 1 175SE 10K
12. What corals do you keep
frags - sps under 250 non sps (rics, some zoos, a few LPS) under 175
13. Tissue color (light or dark)
14. How long has the tank been running
not yet running
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
I like what it has done for my 18 gal in 6 short weeks and I believe it is the easiest way to maintain a nutrient poor system
16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
18. Any present problems
19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.)
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.)
Ok, here's the deal. House is finally done so now I can focus my resources back to getting my frag system up and running. The tank is a 2'x4'x1' plywood that I built. I am using a 55 gallon for a sump.
Some previous threads here have sparked my curiosity. Can I run this system indefinitely with out any live rock and solely rely on Zeovit to provide for my filteration? Since it is a frag tank, I don't really need the rock for display. The original plan was to put the rock in the sump and provide the filteration. I have the room, but I see no need in spending the $ for something that isn't going to contribute to the system.
I plan on using the basic 4 and AAHC. Cal, MG, Alk will all be kept inline (420, 1300, 7.5) salinitly 1.024/1.025, temp 81.
So tell me what you all think!
