  • another pest in my reef?

    as if my aiptasia infestation wasnt bad enough, i found some of these in my tank today:



    heres a close up:

    very close:



    i figure its some type of planaria (which i know some bad buggers belong to this group) anyone know what it is?

        ok, for some reason, it isnt uploading into the zeo gallery...

        i'll try to describe it first, until i can get the pictures up...they are small, about 2mm and they are green. they look like the regular red ones, but they have a little tail-ish looking thing that is red. i found them on my front glass.

            Looks like run of the mill non-acro eating flatworm. Flatworm exit is reasonably effective with them. Good luck.

              i took a look again, and they seem to be everywhere now...they seem to like zoos/softies and lps...the SPS dont seem to be affected. what to do?

                FW exit or try wrasses and mandarines... If its not one thing in this hobby its another I tell you...

                  well, since i didnt have any fish in my tank, i added a six line a few days ago...eventhough i didnt see him eat the FW, im happy to say that i cant see any of them anymore. the sixline is a very cool fish BTW, reminds me of my old chameleon.

                  ...now if i could only get rid of those aiptasia...

                    Pick up a couple peppermint shrimp, just make sure they are the true peps and not camelbacks sold as peppermints. I added 2 and haven't seen an aiptasia since.
