  • Overflow problem

Ok when i had my overflows put in the place screwed it up they put the 2 overflows from front to back nine inches in on each side so i have lost a foot and a half total on my tank so now my 6 foot tank is now 4 and a half feet i have durso stand pipes in the overflows now. heres what i wanna do i have NO WHERE to put my sps's and fish so i cant take them out to put in new ones and let the epoxy dry correctly. So i was thinking about just removing them and just using rock to hide the standpipes that way i can have my foot and a half back to my tank WDUT?

with just the durso pipes, you wont be able to skim the water surface, that's one of the reason to use a overflow box in the first place,
you can't use a smaller box?

IMO, to skim the water surface is needet, i would not use just a durso pipe, but sorry to say i have no solution for you, what els you can use besides the box, somehow i would try to get a smaller overflow box in there,

i dont think that spossible considering the drilled holes are at the bottom part of the tank

well you could make a 4 sidet box, with a hole in the bottome, and put it around the durso, the box could be like 4" high and a diameter of 5" or something like that, no need for the box to go all the way down to the bottome, just like a stand pipe with a "basket" around the durso
