  • Molybdenum=Algae

Hi guys just a question a couple of weeks ago i had an outbreak of brown diatom looking algae well part of the cause was my DI cartridge was exhausted and i changed it and resolved that problem but the algae continued,i found out that the 2 part supplement that i was using contained molybdenum and of course when you do WC you add that element also now i got rid of the 2 part supplement and went back to the one that i was using before but how do i get rid of the element should i stop the WC for a while until the element gets exhausted or will carbon remove it,it looks like a brown slime over some of the rocks and the back wall of the tank and all over the sand it cant be an over dose of zeo cause i stopped all dosing for about 9 days or more i tested for silicates and came out 0 all the parameters are in range.Sorry to bother so much but im getting frustrated with this algae stuff its very persistent.

    Thanks

Well, Nestor, you've done by corrective measures that should help over time. Can you give us your present nutrient levels? Thnx. Bob

Hi Nestor, a current pix would be helpful Until then, with what you have recently done, I'd begin ZEOvit, as the problem was non-zeo related. Bob
