  • Looking for some dosing guidance

I'm on my third week and want to make sure that i'm doing this right.
This is a newly set up tank with nothing in it yet except 190 lb of rock.
    any help is appreciated.

    1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.)
    150G

    2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.)
    About 120?

    3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
    None

    4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
    No

    5. Are you using Ozone?
    No

    6. Are you using UV
    No

    7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
    Deltec 851 (270 – 400)

    8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
    As of last test (.05) PO4 – (2.5) NO3 Salifert

    9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
    Ca 370 – Alk 11.2 KH – Mg 1260

    10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
    none

    11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
    (2) 250w DE MH, 14K AC, 2 Mo

    12. What corals do you keep?
    None new tank

    13. Tissue color (light or dark)
    na

    14. How long has the tank been running
    5 wks

    15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit System?
I want to provide the best environment that I can

    16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
    na

    17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
    190lb 5 wks

    18. Any present problems

    None

    19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.)
    Na

    20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
One year Salifert (ca, Alk, mg, nh4, no2, no3, po4)

    21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart,
ZEOspur2, etc.) First week I started with 1 Liter ZOEvit, 10/10 drops bac/food, .75 x 2 ml start II day. bac/food seamed a bit much so the second week I cut back to 5/5 drops bac/food, .75 x 2 ml day. Starting 3 wk.

    22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.)
    (1.025 SG, 80 Degrees ph 8.3, NH4 0.00, NO2 0.01, NO3 2.5, PO4 0.05,
    MG 1260, KH 11.2, CA 370)

I know that Ca and Mg are low and Alk is high and i'm working on getting these in line.

    120 BB w/20g BB side tank, 29g sump, (2) 250w RO III, 14k AC, Bluewave VII ballast, Deltec 851, Panworld 150 return, (2) 6000 Streams w/controller, AC II Controller w/(2) DC4, GEO 618 CR.

If at first it doesn't fit get a bigger hammer - Beat to fit paint to match

Hi Colin, & congrats on beginning this wonderful method of reef-keeping. Yes, before you add any corals, please do allow the KH to fall within the 6-8 dKH. Your present zeo-doses look to be appropriate If you develop a featherly slime accumulation with or w/o air bubbles, decrease your Start2 quantity by 50%. At wk.3 reduce Bak/Food7 to 2 doses per wk. It helps to turn off your skimmer for 60min after dosing these. This will not be necessary when one is just dosing Start2. Bob
