Hi Andrea, I'm glad you're progressing with ZEOvit You're dosing is fine with now, less Start2 needed--reduce your Start2 quantity to .15ml + .15ml daily[.15ml 2x's/day--total .3ml per day]. At this point try adding AminoAcid High Concentrate & Pohl's Coral-Vitalizer at 2-3 drops & 4-6 drops respectively, every day. If your blue coloration in Acropora is a little weak, also add PIF at 3 drops 2 times a week & Iron concentrate at 1 drop 2 times per week. Later down the road, Spur2 & Spur-Macro-elements can be dosed at the ZEOvit guide recommendations. Bob

Hi Andrea, thnx. for the update--brown to green accumulates indicate too much zeo's at this point in your reef per available nutrient load. I'd do the following:

1)increase the zeolites to 700g--do this addition now, but keep the same flow rate through the zeo-filter. Increase stone-pumping by an extra 1-2 x's/day to affect cleaner surfaces for zeolite function, while removing nutrients & mulm via your skimmer. This also keeps our corals better fed. Run your zeo-filter continuously now, if you were still cycling the zeo-filter. Your nutrients are low enough for continuous filter operation.
2)decrease Bak & Food7 to 2 drops each 2x's/wk. Do not turn off your skimmer any longer after dosing these.
        3)dose Start2 at 3 drops 2x's/day.
        4)continue dosing AAHC at 2 drops/day

Thnx. Andrea for the pix. Get your toothbrush out & scrub daily until it's gone. :worried: The only change I'd make would be to hold AAHC until the algae problem is under control. Bob

                I'll add to Bob's suggestion...

                You need three hands though.

                • 1 hand to scrub with the tooth brush
                • 2 hands to control a siphon hose to get that stuff out of the tank as you scrub

Or you can mount the toothbrush on the end of the siphon hose ... or simply grip both the siphon hose and toothbrush in one hand. I'm battling hydriods right now ... they're winning, but their days are numbered ... and this technique works fine for me. Just a thought ...
