My first setback....

Ok well my reactor plumbing is leaking, I have turned it off and am attempting to reseal it. I assume its not a problem to have my stones sitting in the reactor for 24 hours or so. I'm going to try and start it up again tonight and hope for better results.

ok cool, its actually at the joint between the Grey PVC that came w/ the reactor and where I mated it up w/ my plumbing..let me explain.

I used 3/4 PVC wraped in teflon tape and instered it inside the grey PVC it came with....I sealed the inside with Orange water PVC sealent, then took a bead of aquarium sealent around the outside. ITs not sealed so I re sealed the outside with new aquarium sealent, if this doesn't work I'm going to take the joint apart and actually lay a bead of aquarium sealent inside the joint.

Nathan, if the repair takes longer, I'd suggest placing the stones in a filter sock, passively in your system until your filter is ready. Bob

Yes its a gro-tech. If I can't get it started by tonight I'll put them in my sump inside a media bag.

Ok, pump is running and I'm through the second day, hopefully no more problems for me, my leak is nomore. Right now my only worry is that I didn't let my sealent cure for long enough or I may wake up tomarrow and tear down my own system. . I'm not worried about a leak but something leaching into the water, it had no smell to it and was completely dry to the touch, and some more touching and then looking and then touching again.
