Hey guys currently with my bioload low I run my calcium reactor at a pH at about 7 to partially dissolve the media. Is this ok or is it better to run at a lower ph and saturate the media for a period of hours throughout the day. Im wondering this because maybe, at a lower ph, are more trace elements dissolved? Or is how I am currently running it ok to do? TIA

Sean, I just put mine on a timer last night.. I am going to run it 18hrs a day and see what it does. I have been running it 24/7 but ph was like 7.7-7.9. Trying to run it 18 hrs now during part of lights put but all the time during lights on to see if I can get the PH up.. I already have my air intakes from my skimmer hanging out a window to get fresh air.. It raised it from 7.6-7.8 to where it is now.. I will def report my findings after a couple days and also check water parms to make sure they stay constant.. If not it goes back to 24/7..

Jeff my ph in the reactor is about 7.0, im wondering if at a lower ph more trace elements are released. If not I will keep my reactor as it is because my tank is stable and I do not have a ph issue anymore. It is at 7.90-8.09. Let me know how it goes If there is any changes in coral health.Sean

This helps to keep the pH at night high.
