  • Zeovit put on hold

    Hello,

Here it is, I temporarily stopped zeovit.

After 2 months and only negative results, it slowly became clear that my tank has other issues that need fixing before going further with such a heavy management ans maintenance system.

One of these problems that will catch my attention in the coming months is clearly NO3 that need quick eradication.

    But I'll be back (Terminator 1 )

Anyway, I hope that I did not do any mistake yesterday when I stopped my zeovit reactor....by throwing away all the stones....at the same time.

Some friends tell me that NO2 will rise? Some friends tell me that there's no risk at all?

    Who should I believe?
And, if I experience a NO2 increase, how should I react properly?

I had planned for some time to move a 200g system from my garage to a spare room at my shop. While doing all the stand building, plumbing etc for the new 350 gal system I simply turned of the reactor pump and stopped dosing all zeo components. I actualy wanted nutrients to rise slowly since I new I'd have an increase when I stirred everything up in the moving process. I had been keeping the PO4's around .06 prior to the move. Two weeks after the move the PO4's were at .24. That's when I started up ZEO again.

I lost one birds nest from the time I moved everything up to now. So I'd call it a success.

Hi Marc, I honestly find it difficult to allow you to fail because ZEOvit is really easy to use, works well in nutrient reduction, & truly is amazing for coral color & growth. My SPS are growing better than ever with nice, bright colors. I'd recommend stopping as you have for a period of 2 wks, keep your parameters in line as if on the method, then consider starting again, reposting all your sticky info & I'll ask Alexander to make recommendations for you. He's helped me tremendously. In the meantime, Marc, be sure you limit nutrient import, that you use low TDS RODI water for your system. & do not dose any other supplements. If you were using a zeo-filter, be sure that the flow rate is correct. Continue to use carbon passively & do the WC's. Keep in touch. Bob

Probbably you should write what kind of equipment do you use Type of skimmer, lights and so on.. As you wrote you have phospahtes and nitrates in risig stage what means you feed tu much and not export waste from aquarium in right way.

I also have only negative results but I found out I had to improve light and get much better skimmer to get better condition in my tank water. Then probbably zoe-stuff will work as it should work.

        And we will see!
