  • How much light tolerates an A.Valida?

My A. Validas location is under the burner!(250W)Is it to strong for her?The distance from the water-surface is 8cm
and the burners hangs 33cm to the Water surface.
Hängin something farther from the surface? Is somebody familiar with it?
    Thanks for our answer!
    Bob is this right expressed?

Hi Steffen, Is the 250W a DE bulb? What ballast do you use? What K rating is the bulb? Is the A.valida under the light's "hot-spot"? ie is it light bright on the coral or is the coral shaded? Thnx. Bob

Hí Bob,i work with blv 10k and the bulb is a DE.
The Valida is under the hot spot and she is very bright.
I believe the acro must move.
      Thanks

Hi Steffen, if it's a new coral, then it's probably best to move it, or if not possible, place a plastic screen or two over the tank-top for a while, & once a week remove a layer of the screening. Bob

Hi Bob the coral is approximately a half year in my tank.
It could be the UV is to strong for her?
The complete distance from coral to the bulb are 41cm.Don't point out how much inch it is.The tissue seems burned. But only in the upper area.
          Not at the rests.
          Thanks

Steffen, as Jackson mentioned burnt-tips are from too much UV exposure. Still, though use the screens when placing another coral in that spot, possibly using a thicker branched one to diffuse the irradiation effect on the coral. Bob
