As some of you know I have been very hard at work finishing my basement and getting things ready fro my new 270 gallon reef that is going in down there (see thread starting new 270 gallon).
Today I got a PM asking me what fish I would do if money were not an object (like it is in reefing LOL). I thought to myself "what do you want from this tank" and came to the conclusion that I really want an SPS reef but not one devoid of movement.
I have known from the beginning that I want to do a school of anthias. This is my pivotal species. Swimming room was a consideration in designing the aquascape and luckily those lovely Germans gave Reef Ceramics to the World! I have nothing but great things to say about Gary (I ordered it from him) and I am sure I will be happy, so happy that I have a back and side wall facade coming to cover one side and the back of the tank. Also the low outcropping and pillars.
The pillars are to attach corals to while creating a dynamic swim through for the anthias.
So thanks to German innovation and Gary's hard work to get it here mission is accomplished!!
Now onto the reliable thing. I can anthias locally that are healthy and feeding. No problem there......
But the next fish is the one I have coveted my entire time in reefing (16 years now) The Gem Tang!!!
I know they are pricey!! But it would be worth it to get a healthy one! I have never seen one in a LFS. Anyone here have one or have a source for this wonderful fish.
The last fish I might add is a Marine Betta if its not contraindicated with the anthias and my pair of clowns and royal gramma.
thanks in advance for comments and critiques
