  • Moonpod Blows His Wad :)

    Hey Guys,

I was delighted to document the next positive step in Moonpods tank project.

After only a minor delay of a season (the summer) Moonpod finally got his new tank --

120x36x24 - 1" Acrylic - Entirely open top with powdercoated steel frame (448g) - Approx 700+lbs or 300Kilos for our accented friends

Here is Chuck - Hard to believe he is 6'9 and 400lbs - But the tank does dwarf him a lil.....

Here is the tank parked in front of Moonpods House - For reference that's a Ford F150 Crew Cab:

Then the smart movers tell Chuck that is has to go through the back of the house - Rather than try to lift the tank the 10' up the grass hill in front of the house.

Hmmm.... Anyone see Chuck helping out here

Now to get it in the house

So once it was off the truck - It was time to get through the house --

Big Cheers to Mrs. Moonpod, who just kept smiling all day, and the only question I heard was "How come 6' wasn't big enough?"

Here is a good shot of the bottom of the tank - You can see all the sphincters Moon put in the bottom of the tank for the Dragon Closed loop system.

      Getting It In

Okay - After meandering around the landscape in the back yard -- The first challenge - Will it slide through the back slider and spin around in the breakfast nook to get through the door in the corner.

Step 1 - Aim At the door

Step 2 - Start squeezing thru

      Step 3 - Keep Pushing

Now thru the door from the breakfast nook to the dining room - With 3 inches of clearance.

Moonpod and Fridmani check each other to see if they have broken a sweat

Yay - We cleared the dining room and now are in the FOyer

      Up onto the stand....

                              Bob,

Now being a Bachelor in LA with an SPS tank - There are several alternate treatments - All have a much "happy"ier ending.

And even with the Moonpod discount - the hourly rate is still less, and alot more fun
