  • ZEOSpur ME

I am thinking of trying it. Bob, and others, what is your experience?

I understand it supplies trace elements sometimes lacking in salt mixes. I am using Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt. It supposedly contains "all 70 trace elements found in natural sea water". Will I still see benefits from ZEOSpur ME? Is anyone using it with TM salt?

Tom, good question. I've noticed once my Hanna's were .00 continuously[Phase 1V], M-E had more of a affect on my coral's coloration. I do not use the TM salt, which as you mentioned contains extral traces already, so therefore, the effect may be less dramatic in your situation. Bob

bob, does zeospur ME work the same way as zeospur2? i know that with zeospur, you have to be careful with dosing, since it reduces the amount of zoox.?

Two completely different products. MacroElemente contains trace elements which are present in NSW but not in most of the synthetic salt mixes or in a too low concentration. It will only darken corals while it is overdosed.

While using TM I found it helpful for coloration, but as Bob said really clearly while I had a Hanna PO4 reading lower than 0,03 mg.

I have no idea whats my PO4 levels are now since Salifert is completely useless for what we are trying to measure. Time for me to spring for a Hanna I guess.

            Thanks Bob and Alexander

PO4 was .02 last time I measured (Hanna). My coral colors are lighter than I'd like, so it sounds like ME is worth trying. What would be a good starting dose for my tank (75g net volume)?

Also, I am dosing PIF 1 drop 2x weekly, and Fe 1 drop 1x weekly. Would I benefit from increasing these dosages?

Hi Tom, with your nutrients low, increasing the zeo-supplements will definitely help color in your corals. Try this for the next two wks.: increase PIF to 3 drops 3x's/wk; Fe 1 drop 2x's/wk; AAHC-3-6 drops daily; Spur-ME-10ml weekly. After a time, Tom, your corals may begin to darken, then, back-down these doses to a median dosage for maintenance. Bob
