I have experience with CoralSnow Plus. Compared with CoralSnow, my actual experience is that CoralSnow Plus - skimmer collects dirt in the cup better, but the degree of mud collection is not as much as CoralSnow. On the nutritional side of things - CoralSnow Plus wins. Deposit reduction and cleaning power - CoralSnow wins. Water clarity - Both are good, but CoralSnow is better.

Perhaps - CoralSnow Plus is also a good choice for Fo tank.

Because the normal coral snow is not available here.

    Hi mate

Yeah still using coral snow plus Ive been alternating each day with biomate and coral snow but I'm now reducing as I don't want it too low. Phosphate down when last checked to 4ppb on hanna ULR. Will check later tonight but noticed my coral are lighter hence when I'm now easing off

So your phosphate is down to what level now? Have you continued with Coral Snow Plus.

I also set up a auto frozen food feeder so tank is fed daily the same amount.

The other benefit of the stones is the shaking to release the mulm for coral food, how do you cater for that with just the Exoddus, or have you not seen
any detrimental effects of not shaking the stones ?

I always see a feeding response with my SPS after shaking the stones, so it definitely does something IME.

You mention that your no3 is at 5ppm, what was it at before you changed from the stones over to Exoddus ?
I read the aquaforest and have been in touch with guys who run aquaforest and there was no reports of any benefits from shaking the stones, and I stopped shaking them a while ago and saw no negative effect.

I understand the zeostones absorb the ammonia however it's all part of the cycle is what I meant lol.

As for feeding corals I rely on fish poo and kz coral vitalizer, pohls xtra and reef roids and kz amino acids.

My polyp extention on sps is always out therefore they are always feeding. My nitrate reading had crept to 5ppm whilst on with the stones but it has maintained at this now few a few months. Ive just amended my regime to hopefully get this a little bit lower.

Being highly absorbent I didn't see a need for the zeostones and exxodus bac therefore I gave it time to settle in sticking to my dosing regime then I removed it offline. Ive had no spike in nutrients and still dose the same the advantage is I don't need to replace the stones every 6-8 weeks.

I'm currently running at a stable 5ppm but this will come down in time. Ive had the exxodus bac since November
Cheers. My understanding is that the stones absorb some of the ammonia and provide a place for bacteria to utilise that ammonia, nitrogen cycle, etc. There is also quite a bit of discussion around about the stones leaching some iron, which isn't a bad thing.
