Light requirements for montipora digitata

I've got pink, purple, and green montipora digitata, all under 150 watt 10,000k DE halides.
I've got the pink sorted out, it prefers as close to the lights as possible. But I need advice on the purple and green, as far as I can tell, the purple prefers medium light, and the green low light. Does that sound about correct?
And also what about current? My tank is high current, around 80x.

That sounds about right. If the polyps aren't extending, then it's probably too much flow but the digi's i've had liked a good amount of movement around them.

Alastair, I expect they all could be placed directly under your 150 W bulb but if this is necessary for all colours ? I would say medium to low for the green one, I have never kept a purple one, but over here a lilac one is available which prefers strong light. I have made the same experiences with the blue ones thy come in from Indonesia since some month. Current ? If a pump is not directly blowing through the tissue they can stay every strength. Corals from high current areas grow more compact with thicker branches which I personally would prefer but this has nothing to do with the general health.

Allistar, I have all the digis you listed above and a few others. All of mine including the green like the higher light.. The green though seems to hold the color best of them all in any light condition. I have them all decently close to my 400 watters and the colors are outstanding on them.. The purple seems to be the most light dependent of them all for color though.. They all have good flow with the 3 6100's and OM off the amp3k... I have a cool blue one also that has started to color up nicely and take off.. It was wierd it took it about 2-3 month to do anything.. Its small but looks promising...

I agree w/ Jeff. Purple needs light of light and pink turns orange if it's not getting enough light. Anyone have blue digi?

Naka, I have a small 1" frag of blue digi right now. It has a purplelish brownish polyp but the body is a very nice blue... I also agree with Naka about the pink turning orange without high light. I bought it as an orange digi but it has been reddish pink inmy tank with my lighting and the zeovit system.

These were taken when my flame angel was nipping at my digi polyps like crazy. Now they are nice and extended again.

Wow that's the first time I've seen a blue one, really beautiful. I'll have to hit our local coral importer to see if he can bring some in!
