  • Advice Needed

I am at the one month mark with the Zeo system. I continue to have macro algae sprouting fropm my rocks and I am concerned that the rock in my tank (Uknown age) that I purchased from local reefers is packed with phosphates. Would it be benificial for me to sell off all the rock I have and purchase some new fresh rock?

I think it took more than a month before my macro algae started to die.

To sell the rock is hard to say if it is worth the hassle, if you just continue with zeovit you will get there eventually, very difficult to know just how much phosphate is in the rock. But even the new rock you buy could have a lot of phosphate.

If you decide to change the rock, make sure it is fresh or it will happen what Alastair (WASP) said. Please also do not change to much rock in a short period, split it over some weeks.

Ok I think I will just let it run its course and let the zeo do its job.

Jim, it took me almost 4 months to get rid of my algae. Hang in there, I promise you won't be disappointed.

My rocks covered in green algae in 03/2005

Now all my rocks are covered in coraline algae 07/2005

I learned that zeovit is all about being patient.
