Hi all first post over here. I am not running zeovit at this point, I am just curious of those who do, do you run Ozone? What did you have to stop doing to start Zeovit?

    HI! and Welcome to Zeoville.

With Zeovit, you cannot use Ozone or UV.

First caveat, I'm not an active zeoviter. However, I do lurk on this board quite a bit. Ozone is not recommended b/c zeovit is a bacterial driven process, which ozone has the potential of interfering with. That being said I'm pretty sure someone on this board runs ozone and zeo. Probably in low doses, it doesn't matter. However the "party line" is no ozone with zeo.

As mentioned above, ozone isn't recommended with zeo.

I've never used ozone so I can't comment for myself but I have a few clients that use to run ozone prior to zeo and they say that their zeo water is more clear than the ozone. hth

you are not suppose to use ozone with zeo, however if you really want to, some german zeo user run ozone and zeo at a rate of 10mg/264Gallon (1000Liter), but you should not go higher with your ozone then that,

Here's an interesting study on ozone that says there is no significant difference in bacterial levels in the water column wether ozone is used or not:

It could be possible though that ozone breaks down the organic carbon source we feed to our bacteria...?

Thanks everyone, so no Ozone, but what about Kalk and Carbon? Or any phosphate removers?

Kalk & PO4 removers are another thing not used with ZEOvit. Although some use an aluminium based absorber after the CA Rx to remove PO4 being released from the media. Carbon is used and exchanged every 30 days.

Zeo removes PO4 so using an additional PO4 remover is not necessary (except for a small amount on your Ca reactor) and may even be harmful.

Guys, wanna start another kalk flame war?

So if Kalk is not used, then what do you guys do if you have low PH?
