  • Other zeo supplements

So far, my new tank seems to be pretty stable. My acro colony is turning green. My acro frags don't seem to be turning colors yet but they look like the are acclimating quite well. LPS look healthy and fish are just fine.

My question is, is there any need to consider other zeo supplements such as amino acids and iron? What benefits would I get if I get into those other supplements?

    Thanks,

    Ted

P.S. Tank info is listed below

    1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.)
    ~ 125 gallons

    2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.)
    ??

    3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique
    Calcium reactor

    4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
No.. zeovit for about two months

    5. Are you using Ozone
    No

    6. Are you using UV
    No

    7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume)
    H&S A150 (rated for 225 gallons?)

    8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
PO4 not measurable through deltec test kit, NO3 not meaurable through salifert test kit

    9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels
Ca 360 ppm, ALK 6.5 dkh, Mg 1200 ppm

    10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
Live rock, live sand, skimmer, zeovit

    11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.)
    vho + 2 x 175 watt mh (10000k)

    12. What corals do you keep
    LPS, SPS

    13. Tissue color (light or dark)
    both

    14. How long has the tank been running
    3 month

    15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
in my old tanks, phosphates use to build up. My last tank ran with rowa and did pretty well. Just wanted to try zeo as an alternative to rowa

    16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.)
Bio calcium... just trying to get my Ca levels up

    17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.)
    100 lb?

    18. Any present problems
    No

    19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.)
    N/A

    20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
All salifert except the phosphate test kit which is from deltec

    21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)
    Zeobak
    - 4-6 drops every other day. Half the dosage is added in the morning, the other half in the evening. (And I have forgotten on a couple of occassions).

    Zeofood
    - 4 drops every other day. Half the dosage is added in the morning, the other half in the evening. (And I have forgotten on a couple of occassions).

    Zeostart
    - .8ml everyday. Half the dosage is added in the morning, the other half in the evening. (And I have forgotten on a couple of occassions. I've been quite negligent over the past couple of weeks actually)

    Zeolith
    - Was running about a liter. Total system volume is about 120 gallons. I did a zeolith change out the other day... put in about 3/4 liter of new zeo and just a few rocks from the old zeo to seed.

    22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.)
    Salinity - 1.025
Temp - 77 to 80 depending on time of day
pH - 7.95 to 8.15 depending on time of day

Hi Ted, sure you can use AAHC/PIF/Fe. These are very contrated solutions so follow the guide recommendations for the dosing quantities. In PhaseII[your stage] these will not have as big an impact as in PhaseIII, so don't dose over the guidelines as too much of the zeo-supplements will paradoxically darken our corals. Ted, at your stage I'd recommend just adding AAHC for a few months before adding PIF/Fe to your regimen, as AAHC in low dosages will benefit your corals colors & growth. Bob

      Thanks Bob.

When you say they will benefit my corals, do you mean they will benefit my SPS or my LPS or both? From what I can tell, the zeo system has had not effect on my LPS. They look exactly the same as they did before. Healthy though.

      Thanks,

      Ted

Ted, if you have several LPS-corals, try AAHC-LPS in a 1:3 ratio with AAHC. This will cause LPS to bloom within minutes after dosing. Bob
