  • Wow this website ROCKS!!!!!!

So this is where all the Uber-Reefers go! And what appropriate usage of the word Uber!

Even though I do not use ZEO (yet ) I do like great engineering and it seems like you guys do as well.

I couldn't find anything on Reef Ceramics on the other site, and very little on BK. I have both coming in a few weeks, hopefully.

I do have a friend here locally who uses ZEO. His results are fantastic. Whenever he SPS-sits for me, my corals turn out incredible. It's like when my wife goes to the hairdresser.

Well, just wanted to pop in and thank the site. My 340 is being taken down and in about 3 weeks it will be back up using:

3x Lumenarc, hopefully Aquaconnect 400W bulbs
    BK300 (int or ext)
    2x 6200 & 2x 6100
    Schuran JS1 with peri pump
Deltec FR509 with ROWA (have 7 litres waiting)
    Osmolator
Replacing AQ2 with either AQIII Pro, Aquatronica or IKS

That's probably all the fun stuff.

    Thanks!

LOL Brian, get me my stuff and I'll post pictures. You are like my drug dealer, different kind of reefer, lol.

Yes Nick - it's me, Miguel is my son's name and we call him Miguelito.

I am totally stoked about the ceramic. I know what people say, but I do not think my BK will beat my old H&S (3x1260 external), both around $2,200. That thing was a monster.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! After I get the set-up done I'm going to evaluate the usage of ZEO. For now I'm still doing homework on it.

Edward - yeah, I saw a post somewhere that someone went from a H&S to a BK and liked the BK better. If I remember correctly, it was an A200 in Europe. I think the Eheims over here pull more air, so it's not really a fair comparison. The air intake on my Eheims was close to 900 each, say 2600-2700lph total. The BK I think pulls about 2100lph or so. They're both approx $2,200. One thing that will be nice about the BK is one pump though. But after owning the A300 for a few months and really understanding it, it was a monster. I could pull out 1.5 gallons in a day of black sludge. BTW I upgraded to the 3x1260 from a 2x1260. Incredible performers.

I really hope the BK pulls more, but I've looked at lots of pics - and with the exception of a few from Germany I've never seen skimmate that I could get out of the H&S. We will see, I'll keep you posted!

I am hoping to get it in a couple weeks from Brian at Finsreef. He has been fantastic for quite a while. I had a Korallin ca reactor and he was the only person who could get me a broken part. I've bought several other things from him and his customer support is excellent.

What I'm MOST excited about is the Reef Ceramic. That's gonna be totally sweet to aquascape with! And no more cleaning the back of my tank!!!!!
