  • Blood?

Anyone have any info on feeding blood into your tank? The HGH method requests the use of high feeding with oysters and their blood. Can anyone provide any experience or facts about feeding blood into a marine aquarium?

Maybe Chuck can steal some from work and try it for us

I know there was a experiment some years ago feeding Tridacna clams with blood. It seems this was not the anticipated success. I am not a doctor but feeding blood to a tank would be a excellent iron supplement

Thats a good point. Its one of those ideas especially when humans think they can redrink their blood in order to get it back in their system, when in reality, its a waste and just gets digested.

Blood provides ammonia[N] & Heme[iron]. In theory, this should be a good food source for clams as Alexander said. I'm not sure if Daniel Knopp found it beneficial as a clam-food??? Bob

There was a recent thread on this on either RC or reef frontiers. Don't have time to look right now but will try to later.

or worst still.. I will never dare put my hand into the tank anymore in case the AIDS virus some how still alive in the water, get transmited to your hand...

and you will be the 1st... a man found to suffer from AIDS due to feeding his tank with AIDS blood and later put his hand into his tank to do some simple maintainance.
