  • Too low PO4 is harm for coloration?

    I heard too low po4 makes SPS color dull.......Is it true?

    my level is 0.01 with hanna colorimeter..

    0.03~04 is proper level?

    mine at undetectable and so far so good, still monitoring.

      PO4 is an important nutrient and corals require to have at least some for their long term well being. Aquarists have reported that 0.03 gives the best results.

              lolz... well i think this also depend on what type of coral your are keeping..
              cause if most of you sps are from fiji i see no harm in keeping 0.01~0.00 p04 level...

              and losmandy has proof that sps in 0 p04 level the color still stay... so if you are worry i think a 0.01 p04 level will be perfect...

                  I think it takes time to see all these effects but having the PO4 levels low are better than having it high as I think it is easier to raise the PO4 levels than reducing them. I can afford to be a little more lazy :P

                  That being said, I do noticed that since starting to dose AAHC on a daily basis (660 litres net volume, 4 drops/day) the zoo density on one of my yellow/green acro has increased, this is also in conjection with daily dosing of Fe and Flouride. Will keep monitoring them.
