  • Would someone with a colorimetor be willing to help me?

I don't know if this is possible because of the shipping and the water losing temperature but I was wondering if I could ship someone with a colorimetor (Spelling?) a vile of my water to see what my phosophate count is. I have been running zeovit for 7 months now but have never been able to test for phosophates because I cannot afford one of those great machines. I am really curious if my phosophate level is low or not and what adjustments I need to make to the zeovit system if it is not.

Would the reading even be accurate since the water would be shipped and out of the main cycle of the tank?

I'm in SoCal and two days away via UPS ground for sure. I'll test it if you like. Not sure what happens to PO4's in transit though. If you decide to send it I'd suggest the first of the week so it won't sit over the weekend.

                  Test #1 Cuvette #1.... .08
                  Test #2 Cuvette #2.... .08
                  Test #3 Cuvette #1.... .08

I'd guess .08 is pretty close.

Bob... either it's .08 or I screwed it up 3 times in a row exactly the same way.

So what would you say about that test result. Good? Bad? Stage 3 yet or still stage 2.

I'd say still high for SPS if the sample was clean and not contaminated.

Shoot! I have been running zeovit for about 7 months now. That is kind of discouraging that it is still high. But I do have an establised small sand bed and live rock that has been in my tank for about 4 years, that could be the reason why it is taking so long for the PO4 to reduce. Do you think I should up my start doses at all to try and drive my PO4 down faster?
