Just started Zeo - Skimmer Production Down!

Hello all,

I just started Zeo on Friday evening and I am noticing my ASM G3 has slowed down producing skimmate. Is this normal or is something wrong? I cleaned the skimmer and ran it in vinigar before I began but it just seems to have come to a halt?

Hi Jim, yes this is expected with new zeolites[& carbon] as they remove nutrients. After a while, pump cleaning the stones will result in the stones releasing "duff" which will eventually end up in your skimmer[more productive.] Bob

Thanks for the info. Also I seem to be noticing clearer water and increased color at the tips of my SPS. Is this possible only after three days or am I trying to make the colors look better to justify the change to Zeo?

Jim, tip-color will be the first color change to be noted, & the water clarity improvement may be contributing to this as well. Bob
