Hi John, glad to see you're ready for ZEOvit Well, almost as you will need to change some parameters & reef techniques. Be sure to know the ZEOvit guide thoroughly First, KW is not used with the method. Just use RODI water for top-off. P04 removers are not needed & can be detrimental with ZEOvit, therefore, stop PB reactor & use.The method depletes both N's/P's evenly & completely. Decrease your KH to the ZEOvit guidelines of 6.5-8. For your system, I recommend the flollowing:1) dose 1/2ltr. zeolites in a zeo-filter at a water flow of 200l/h, a little more or less is not a problem. Clean these daily & exchange these after 4wks for the first cycle, thereafter, it's every 6wks. Cycle the stones at 3 hr. intervals, on & off per a timer.2) dose 1/2Cup of carbon in a mesh-bag, passively in your sump. Knead this every other day & exchange every 4wks. 3) dose bak/food7--2drops/2drops daily for 2wks. then 2x's/wk. Dose these in front of the intake pump of your zeo-filter. Turn off the skimmers for 60min. after these dosings. 4) dose Start, .5ml daily thruout the cycle. Split this dosage into .25ml 2x's/day. John, plz. ask questions if you have any concerns. Bob

Thanks Bob, I have not got the Zeovit ( i have ordered it) yet so i will start in a week or 2. I will remove the kalk and Rowaphos before i start dosing the Zeovit and decrease the Kh.
When you say cycle the stones in intervals of 3 hours, how long should this be done for? the first 4 weeks?
      Thank-you

John, IME, about 4mos. is needed to exhaust the "nutrient-pool". This may vary depending on the tank age, bioload, nutrient load, & nutrient import/export, etc. The cycling can be done, however, indefinitely, your choice. I stopped cycling at the 4mos. time-frame, as my coral colors were like Alexander's Bob

          Hi,
I have been using the dosage above now for 2 weeks, so i now cut down on the dosage of bak/food7 to 2x per week. Do i now cut down the dosage of start? or do i keep dosing the same amount till the change of the stones?

          Thanks John.....

Good show, John, after the first two wks, bak/food7 is dosed 2x's/wk while Start is dosed daily. The quantites remain the same throughout the inital cycle unless you see signs of zeo-excess[as per ZEOvit guide] Bob

                Hi,
Im now coming to the end of the first 4 weeks, everything seems to be running well. I will be changing the stones and carbon this weekend, How should i now change the dosing? Im now dosing 0.25ml of Zeostart twice a day, and 2 drops of Bak/food7 twice a week.
                Thanks John.....

Hi John, thnx. for your update Your zeo-quantities will remain the same as the last cycle, with the following exceptions:
                  1) zeolites will now be changed every 6wks.
                  2) bak/food7 will be dosed every other day for the 1st 2wks. with new zeolites, then, 2x's/wk.

                      Hi,
Its my third change of the Zeovit on Sunday, should i change any of the dosing amounts? or stay the same.

                      Cheers John..

Hi John, as one goes deeper into ZEOvit, the zeo-quantites will gradually diminish, as the nutrients are lower. If your corals are healthy, w/o tip thinning or a strong, brownish film on your panes or rocks/sand, then these zeo-amounts are still proper, & no changes in doses will need to be made. Bob
