  • ZEO Life...anyone use it???

Does anyone use ZEOLife in a Non-zeo tank? Does it do anything? Thanks..

    Greetings All !

    Adam,

I started to use ZeoLife in a non-zeo 12G JBJ Nano DX tank that I set up last week. Unmodified cube, stock pump, 50W submersible heater, 14 lbs. Bio-Active live sand, and 11 lbs. cured live rock. The system contains zoanthus polyps, parazoanthus polyps, Ricordea florida, blue mushrooms, cleaner shrimp, reef hermit crabs, featherdusters, a white sand sifting starfish, a Nassarius snail, and a Coral Beauty.

I'm looking for a way to depress long term NO3 and P accumulation in the system. I'm tracking the system chemistry and will post measurements and pics as soon as I have anything to say about it.

    HTH.

hrmmm...does anyone use it on a SPS (acropora) tank? Any effects? From the pic it looks like nasty brown junk...well but it does something Im sure....

        Yoh,

Like all the advice given to you on RC, perhaps you should read what it says:

"ZeoLife is a liquid filter medium. We created it to boost specific metabolic processes occurring in an aquarium. It will remove yellowing compounds and duff. If used continuously it will also remove small amounts of nitrate and phosphate. It can be used in conjunction with Zeovit – it is especially helpful during the start-up phase of the system. Dose directly into the tank. If possible, turn off skimmer for a period of 1 hour after dosing. 1000 ml will effectively treat 5000 liters. This dosage can be doubled if you experience acute problems in your tank. Shake well before use. We recommend the use of this supplement after each water change. Dosing amount if used continuously: 3 ml/25 gallons daily."

          I did read it, Sean.

I was just wondering, since it lowers phosphates and nitrates, could it possibly increase acropora and montipora colors? Thanks

Perhaps then you should ask that question rather then

Does anyone use ZEOLife in a Non-zeo tank? Does it do anything?
Does it do anything is a rather ambiguous statement.

Zeo life is similar as easy life products from Holand (easy life is on the market for few years allready).Bigest change you can see if is your tank dirty ,ZL -EL clean the water very nice.He suposedly rise oxygen concetration, redox, kill pathogen...I use that products few time in reef aquarium without problems but I dont think you will get some extraordinary results from that product, probably you will be disapointed.
