Hey guys well everything has been going great in my tank.
ZEO is working wonders, still trying to get the right dose of spur2 but other than that its going great!
I got an aqua cultured colony about 1 month ago and due to my tight schedule of baseball and finals, i did not look the coral over real well so i aclimated and put it in.
the coral was doing great.
i notice some small leafy green algae on it, but thought the snails would eat it. so i figured i woudl leave it alone.
well the next thing i now this green leafy algae is growing along the back of my rocks. its like a Vine it has very strong roots to the rocks and grows like a mat.
well i have been trying to physically removing it, but its hard to remove. It dose not come off real well.
I have a light fish load, and i up my dosing alittle. i am dosing 1.5ml of start1, and 4 drops of bak and food7.
i also stopped dosing my AA's until this algae goes away.
i dont know what to do, this stuff is taking over.
i think its Macro algae. i read about it on RC, about how it was coming in on cultured colonies.
i took some pics to see what you guys think.
I am thinking about getting a rabbit fish, more specifically a Doliatus Rabbit fish (Siganus Doliatus).
do you think that this fish will eat it?
i CANNOT add a tang because of my fairy wrasse collection, the tangs would force the wrasses into hiding a they would starve.
like most of you know i am upgrading to a 300 in about 2 months once its ready. 5'x4'x2' and the only other large fish will be a blue face angel and a conspic angel.
what do you think?
would a rabbit fish do it? Its a cool fish and if it eats this crap that woudl be great! what do you think? or do you guys think i need to get a tang? i just dont want to put all this money that i spent on fairy wrasses on the line. this collection was not cheap, so i thought a rabbit fish would be a better choice. what do you think?
heres a pic of the stuff let me know!
thanks guys!
Nick
