  • Faux bottom and frag plugs.

Been pondering an idea. The guys that use the faux sandbeds use epoxy and aragonite, correct? why not mix the same and put in ice cube trays. Pop em out and instant frag plugs with no curing time required. If this is feasible, what kind of epoxy do they use? Seems an easy way to make multiple plugs.

lol, I've actually made a few of these. I made some faux sand patches, faux sand rings and a couple of other epoxy frag plugs incorporating some old zeo rocks. never tried any of them out tho, but they do look cool.

I use polyester casting resin available from most craft shops.

What about a bar top type of resin from HD?

if you put it in ice trays wouldn't it glue itsself to the tray?

Here is what I use and I LOVE them. They are dirt cheap and work perfectly.
