  • About Blowing detritus

When I saw the tank yesterday, I found the space that many detritus are
    existed.

I wanna remove them with hose, but it did not work well.

I thought there was less water flow around That space, and could be the

source of NO3 (this is not mulm...right? )

so I wanna blow them and add the flow with seio that I have.

When I blow them, They are harmful to SPSs?

    Thanks...

IMO I dont think so, my tank is bb and I have a tremedous amount of flow to help blow the detritus around and hopefully it will end up in the micron sock to be removed from the tank. I have two large powerheads in opposite corners of the tank on the bottom. I also have a rack for my live rock to help keep from detritus from building up imbetween the tank and the rock. I am looking into a wave box that might just eraticate the dead spot problem.

I blow the rocks and substrate about once a week, it seems to really help, but the sps really extend their polyps when I do this, I had always assumed they were feeding, so I guess that is a good thing...............
