  • Very interesting results, can I be overdosing?

So here is my normal zeovit dosing schedule for my 40 gallon tank

    Zeofood:

    1st 2 weeks 1 drop everyother day, after 1st 2 weeks 1 drop twice a week

    Zeobac:
    1st 2 weeks 1 drop everyother day, after 1st 2 weeks 1 drop twice a week

    Zeostart:

    1st 2 weeks .4ml a day, after 2 weeks .2ml everyday

    Zeo Amino Acids:

    1 drop everyday

    Zeo Iron Concentrate:

    1 drop everyday

    Zeo Potassiumiodide:

    1 drop everyday

I also dose Zeospur2 and Macroelements but do not feel their dosages are important in my question.

So I dosed zeospur2 last Weds. night for the 4th time (all 3 previous times I noticed better color but only in certain corals). After dosing I left and was gone from Thursday night to to Sunday night. During this time I did not dose any zeo products at all (this is the first time I have not had someone dose zeo for me when I was gone). This morning when I got up and looked at my tank I noticed something pretty astonishing, two of my corals that have been noting but tan had color on their tips (one blue and one green).

My question is could this sudden color be caused because I have been overdosing my zeoproducts and when I left it gave my tank a break therefore causing the colors to lighten? Or is this more likely a result of zeospur2 kicking in the more times I use it? I believe I am still in phase 2 but am close to entering phase 3.

Anyother helpful information to answer this question that you need please let me know.

Hi Brad, all elements in excess will cause darkening of our corals. In your case, I agree that Spur2's effect in lower nutrients is lasting longer & is gradually decreasing the zoox density. One other possibility is your dosing of the zeo-supplements[PIF,Fe, AAHC]might be more effective on a 2-3 x's/wk, instead of daily. I would not change your bak/food/start dosage, unless after reducing the zeo-supplements, your coral coloration does not intensify.Bob

      Ok Bob,

You know, I asked you when I first recieved the PIF, Fe, and AAHC what my dosing should be and you told me 2-3 times per week. I dosed that dosage for a small amount of time and then decided to increase it becuase I didn't see any results. Now looking back I think I should have taken your advice and been a little more patient. I will switch my dosing now and try 2-3 times a week. Once again you are the king of zeo and I am a simple citizen. Thanks Bob.

Thnx., Brad, for the kind words I'm not sure my wife agrees though. Bob
