  • Your Salt Mixing Bucket

I mix SW weekly in a 60g drum and the bottom is pretty much brown all the time. I do the WC and just after that I mix another batch so it sits with a Mag 5 for until the next week.
I was using a 30g gray trash can before so maybe it was happening with it and I never saw it.

Anyone else see this in the mixing containers?

Steve, my 60g container was black on the bottom after 5yrs. I'll try to clean the container once a yr. Bob

I get the same thing in the botom third or so of my mixing bucket. I like to think it's all the bad stuff from the salt and water getting left behind .

It seems like some or most would wipe out if I stuck my head in there to do it.

Nam... what salt do you use? Do you rinse it out very often?

Mine's a pain to get outside where I have it. When I built the system in the room I had available I thought at the time it was more than enough space. Now I'm looking at setting up two more tanks for some comparsions and another 46" x 44" x 24" bin and they have to go out in the open space of the warehouse.

I use a 20G glass tank. I occasionally see brown dust on stuff (mixing pumps, walls, etc) in the tank. I rinse it out once a month. All is well.
