  • Quick question...

Hi, could putting one of those cloth filter bags in my sump without cleaning it cause some slight bleaching & reduced polyp extension in some of my acro's???

some appear that i have dosed some zeo product in my tank causing them to lighten up...but I didnt....

    What are your water parameters?

If I don't clean a new micron bag the skimmer goes nuts for a while. Must be something in it so it COULD also cause a problem with the corals.

The substance would already need to be in the tank.

I don't think the problem has anything to do with the micron bags; I think a list of tank parameters may clear this up and you'll see the problem lays somewhere else.

Also, even if something did get onto the bag, carbon and skimming should remove it unless it was a gallon of bleach.
