Hi Nick, I'm confused Were you having any problems? Can you tell me about your coral appearances? Your nutrient levels? I believe your have a 125g net vol? If so, dose 1.5 ml Spur2 initially, & increase by .5ml every two wks until your corals become & stay lightened for 7-10 days. You should dose Fe 3 drops once or twice a wk--this helps maintain the strong colors that we seekBob

OK Nick, if you're having the brownish-red film deposits in your reef, I'd hold Start for days, then dose Start1 .5ml 2x's/day. I'd continue bak/food at the present dosagesBob

Nick, do you have a pix of this? Is your TDS water <5? Do you use a DI canister filter in your product water? I, personally had high Si's from a faulty RO filament membrane, so this is important to check as your problem then is non zeo-related. What salt mix are you currently using? How old are your bulbs? Thnx. Bob

OMG, Nick . My solution [if it were my reef] would be to remove the your corals, distinguish the lights over the reef for wks. & daily scrub all deposits with a toothbrush to your skimmer & zeo-filter. Alternatively, exchange all the LR with fully-cured[expensive], or move all your affected LR to a another tank to be "cooked" for ~3 mos. Chronically, this results from either high nutrients or overshooting the zeo-dosing in your system. Another idea would be to try Chemi-clean & leave your reef as is for now. I've never used this product, but Edward had impressive results using this. If you decide on the latter, I would suggest senting a PM to Edward[invincible569] for his dosing of chemi-clean, etc. Bob

Nick, if that's the case, remove & clean the Tunze deco-rocks & scrape the starboard & panes clean on a regular routine.
I would hold AAHC until you get ahead of the problem. Bob

WHOA that's a serious amount of algae. If I were you I'd seriously cut back on lighting until the problem has been resolved. For example you could only run the 20kK bulb for 6 hours a day for a few weeks and leave the 10kK bulbs OFF.

Are you able to detect NO3 or PO4 with your Salifert kits?

Nick, not sure because of the pictures quality, but I think you are fighting against two different things.

These tufts are defiantly algae. I would recommend to use herbivore & manual removing.

The second one are the slimy fields, also the bubbles on the back panel. This could be caused by a overdose of ZeoStart2 and / or AAHC.

I would recommend to lower ZeoStart2 to 0,1 ml three times a day as long as the slime disappears. Not sure how long this lasts, because this also depends to the accumulation of the element which causes the slime. I can tell you, in my tank this lasted about 4 weeks, but could be different in different tanks. I also would recommend to stop the dosage of AAHC until they disappear completely, starting with AAHC again in a much lower dosage.
