  • I found my alkalinity problem!

So for those of you who were trying to help me yesterday with my alkalinity problem, I found it.

I went today and bought a Salifert alkalinity test kit. I before was using a cheap test kit made by Fastest. The Fastest test kit told me I was consistently getting levels of 5.6 DKH. I just tested with my new Salifert test and I got a reading of 11.6 DKH.

Guess I won't be adding B-ionic's alkalinity for a few days to get my alkalinity to drop. I guess I never had a problem in the first place.

Good to hear you found the real problem. It might take a while for the alk to drop but a couple water changes with a lower alk level could speed it along. I wouldn't look to get it done overnight though.
