Hi Nick, same here. My params are all zero w/salifert teskits. The thing is that i do not know whether did i overdose zeo products. I am dosing floride/iron & amino everyday with 1 drop from each product. I am using zeo system for a month already. My tank is 35g(Nano).

Kamiru, can really not tell you which algae these are (picture 2 & 3), but from time to time I have similar ones at the places where neither algae eating fish nor snails can reach them (only on the glass and plastic parts like pumps for example).

If they do not spread at your rocks I would not care to much.

Maybe there is a connection to your dosage of Food and / or AAHC. You could try to cut down the dosage for a 2 week period to observe if you notice any changes in the algae.

Your iodine dosage seems a little bit to high. I would reduce it to one drop once or twice a week.

Just so you know Gary i have theom on my magnet scraper my starboard (that drives me INSANE) and on one of my Tunze deco rocks i stopped dosing for a week of ALL zeo supplements and it did nothing for it i scrape off all the starboard every couple of days and suck it out and BOOM back a couple of days later im dying to know what causes this algae

Greetings All !

The Green-Brown "fine" filamentous alga pictured in "Algae3" is a Derbasia species. The "thicker" filamentous alga growing on the rock and side of the tank pictured in "Algae2" is a Bryopsis species.

If you have a copy of "Algae. A Problem Solver Guide" (Sprung, 2002), the Derbasia is shown on page 46, and the Bryopsis is shown on page 47.
