  • Going BB w/ black starboard

I decided to go bb w/ black starboard. Now since I have center brace for my 4x2x2 120 do I need to order 2 starboards? 23 1/4" x 11 1/4" each?

    Thanks,

    Naka

I'm very curious as to how you'll do this.

I want to get a eurobraced cube and I'm confused how I'll manage to get a fixing size of starboard down inside..

James - I wish I had known. I just ordered my black starboard last Friday.

You can get a 54"x24" piece for like $60-70 shipped from www.cuttingboardfactory.com. You can cut that in half to give you two 27x24" pieces, and trim it to fit from there.

Yeah, I've got the white starboard now, and I don't like how the coralline algae grows on it. I'm sure the coralline will grow on the black too, but it won't stick out as bad.

I think the new tank will be very cool. Kevin has a couple of tricks up his sleeves, and I can't wait to see how it will turn out.

actually it will stick out worse with black. it will make the purple pop out at you, as with the wite it reflects off. You would think the opposite but not true.

Thanks Mike, but don't I need to go like 1/4" less on both length and width, so it can fit inside the tank?
How are your corals looking since zeovit? I got no difference, but it's only been 2 weeks.
But, since the interceptor treatment I'm getting crazy polyp extensions on all my corals.

Yes, that's why you trim it to fit. I could probably still add you to my order and we could save a little on shipping, if you want. They said it wouldn't ship out until Wednesday. Just let me know.

I didn't have a lot of SPS before starting Zeovit, so it's hard to say. I also had very high nutrient levels, so I'm not expecting huge changes right away. I do have a nice sized monti cap that someone gave me right before I started Zeo. She sold her metal halides and it wasn't doing well under VHO's, so she gave it to me to try to rescue. When I got it, it was a very dark purpleish brown, since starting Zeo it is starting to color up very nicely. But I'm not 100% sure if it's the Zeovit or just giving it the proper lighting. The most noticeable coral change besides that are some peach ricordias that have colored up very nicely. I've had them for a year and they never looked this good, so it's probably safe to attribute it to the Zeo.
