Damn Flame angel...

I got this flame angel a week ago.. The damn thing is an sps polyp muncher.. I would luv to catch the little sucker and put him in the garbage disposal... I am going to try to see if I can catch him with a net using a mirror to get his attention.. I hope that works.. I also have a fish trap but he is a little shy still and darts in and out of the rockwork to munch on polyps.. Hes driving me and my corals crazy.. Digis are his favorite... I can NOT take the workwork out so I hope to catch this little sucker. If anybody has a good way let me know.. I can not use a hook because one of my 8 tangs will be all over it and not him... Good damn I knew better too.. I was going to try a goldflake.. I should have I bet he would be a better citizen then this flame.... :devil2:

I had the same problem. I was successful with the 2 liter coke bottle method. Had him out in 10 minutes. Give it a try.

Sorry to hear this Jeff, I wish you would have posted, I would have told you stay away. They love SPS. some have luck but no one I know has had one that hasnt ate SPS polyps

And they have also been known to nip at clams. Sorry to hear you this for you. Hope you can catch him soon. I have been weary to add fish to my reef since I bought a purple tang that nipped at my sps and clams. It killed a 5 in crocea before I realized who was the bad guy. Yes thats right a PURPLE TANG! All fish are not reef safe just because they are suppose to be. I learnt that one the hard way. And not to mention had a Kole tang go after my 14 in Derasa clam.

BoB, yes it was scary. I never thought that tangs would attack clams and sps. It was a relief to get them both out of my tanks. I don't buy many fish since that happened to me. I don't know why, maybe they were feed the wrong food. They say once they get the taste for corals or clams, theres no changing them. They will always try to go for them. They both went back to the LFS.
