  • Lower Po4

does any one know how to get my po4 lower from my RO/DI unit? here is my problem, my tap water has a high po4 reading of .95 the water coming out of my RO/DI unit is .02 which i think is pretty good considering the high .95 from the tap water. but i would like to get it lower any body have any ideas. i have changed all the filters and still the po4 is .02. has any one of you had this problem before? i am using the air-water-ice typhonIII water unit the TDS reading is 00. still have po4 of .02. I ALSO USE A HANNA PHOTO METER!!

You could try a post di filter filled with Phosban or Phosguard or something like that.
A PVC pipe filled and caped would be all you need. Just a suggestion.

In the water reservoir where you mix your salt get a little fluidized reactor with some RowaPhos and leave it running until PO4 is zero before you use it to do a water change, to remove whatever your RO/DI didn't catch.

Ken I had this same problem when I first got my RO/DI filter. I added an additional DI cartridge and it solved the problem

Not all DI resins are equal. My suspicion is you have a less than good one. As per above, try a quality one / cartridge.

The stuff I use is called Dow MR3. Seems to be a good product, the tap water has a TDS of around 90, after RO a TDS around 2, and then after DI an undetectable TDS.

I am not sure the brand, but around maybe 9 months ago on RC there was discussion about some DI cartridges being sold very cheaply, but turned out to be giving poor results.

Ken I can get the good ones. The same ones I use. I am not sure of the brand either but will check on Tuesday for you. I have a couple extras so you can try it out first if you would like.

That's strange, my post has dissapeared. Maybe we cannot mention brand names?
