First 4 week change please help

Hello fellow Zeo Heads


Well it is now time for the 4 week change, please can you help me on correct dosing?


Tank : 100 gallon including sump

Zeo reactor : 3 hour on/off cycle @ 350 L per hour

Current Dosing :

Zeo Start : 0.3 ml three times a day
ZeoBak/Food 5ml twice a week

Parameters:

CA 450
PH 0.1
Ni 0
PH 8.2
SG 1025
MG 1200

Tank is looking great, still some very small cyno patches, coral’s are growing great and colour is better than ever, just one humulis that is still very brown.

Please can you help me on next change and dosing ?

Hi Christiaan, good news about things thus far For your system, I recommend the following:
1) 1 Cup Carbon
2) 1ltr. zeolites with a flow rate of 400l/h. This will be your maximum dose of the stones & flow rate. These now will exchanged every 6wks. I use about 10 "seasoned" stones of different
sizes from the last batch to acclerate the seeding process. Continue cycling the zeo-filter for 4-5 mos. until phase 3 is reached[see sticky]
3) dose Bak/food7-- 3 drops ea. every other day for the 1st 2wks. with new zeolites, then, 2x's/wk.
4) dose Start1-- .2ml 3x's/day daily, Bob

I am going to order some more Zeo Goodies from Gary this week, what would you recommend in terms of the other Zeo product’s ie Amino, spur etc……

Christiaan, I'd recommend waiting until the next zeolite exchange[2nd] at 2 1/2 mos. before beginning the zeo-supplements, as there's plently of "stored"-nutrients available for the corals. I would then recommend PIF/Fe, AAHC & wait again until the 3rd zeolite exchange[4mos.] before comtemplating Spur-ME & Spur2. Bob
