  • Macro is dying..fast..finally

I can finally breath a sigh of relief. The macro that has almost taken over my tank is dying off at a pretty good rate.I've been pruning it almost daily but never could get it all.I gotta tell you when you get the dosing right it really shows

How long were you on Zeo before this happened?

I noticed an almost immediate change in my bubble algae when I started Zeo (in my 6th week now). The bubbles became detached from my LR and new ones stopped forming. Most of my nuisance Caulerpa also died back.

The only thing that hasn't been affected is the Chaeto in my sump. . .it still seems to be growing steadily.

I'm on my 11th week of Zeo.I also noticed clear water and color changes in the first few days with zeo.Around the 5th or 6th week everything leveled out and i saw very little change.I stuck with it and i'm seeing changes again, for the better.ggjeff, yes i almost stopped because i wasn't seeing any positive results for awhile. All i can say is if you haven't seen any changes in your tank in awhile, stick with the Zeo the positive changes do come back.

Nick, 11 weeks.I also upgraded my skimmer to a Deltec APH525,it's rated for twice my water volume and i think thats also having a big impact. If a fish farts it pulls it out

IME, this is how Zeo works. You go through great highs and then you feel like nothings going on, but it is still working. Remember guys nothing happens overnite in a reef that is good, only bad. Stay the course and Zeo will treat you very well

It also depends on the nutrients in your tank too.My tank always had 0 nitrates and PO4.I never had a hair alge problem.I had a patch here or there and the turbos always ate it up.I always had macro growing though. When i used phosban it would slow down but not stop,so i figured i had pretty low nutrients when i started Zeo.I'm dosing real lightly now only 2 drops of bac, food twice a week 3 drops of AA daily and .6ml of start daily.I also have been strict about weekly water changes,5%
I bet i replace about 2 extra gallons a week because of the wet skimming. Are you wet skimming Nick?

Nick,it turns a light brown then goes clear.I'm trying to pull it out before it disolves. It comes off the rocks pretty easy once it starts turning brown. Some of it will be green then just clear.I didn't realize how much was in there until it started dying off, theres tons in there.I have a ORP monitor comming just to take readings. If it's too low i may run a real low level of ozone for a short period.I know it's a no no but i like to tinker and expirement..hehe...I'll keep you posted
