Seriatopora hystrix che sbianca

Dall'oggi al domani una colonia di seriatopora hystrix ha iniziato a sbiancare
da centro verso l'esterno
Probabilemnte è dovuta a zeostart2
è esattamente da 4 giorni che sono passato da zeostart1 al 2
ogni giorno ho dosato 3 gocce(la mia vasca è 300 litri)
l'unico altro porodotto nuovo che ho usato da 5 giorni e per la prima volta
è il buffer per alzare il magnesio della seachem
che tra l'altro sembra che non dia neanche grandi risultati(il magnesio sale molto lentamente)avevo un valore 1230 mg/l ho dosato un giorno si e uno no 5 cucchiaini sciolti in osmosi e poi versati
cosa faccio sopsendo tutto per ora??
per il resto stavo dosando back e food 2 volte a settimana(3 gocce cad)
aminoacidi high 3 gocce al giorno da 1 mese e mezzo
pohls coral vitalizer 3 gocce al giorno da 2 mesi e mezzo
fosfati 0,03(fotometro)oggi e negli altri giorni era sempre tra 0,06 a 0,03
altro dubbio che ho è che ho iniziato ad usare il reattore di calcio da 15 giorni
ma i valri sono kh 10 e calcio 410

Hi Findus, your KH is too high & will cause tissue loss in a low-nutrient environment with the ZEOvit method. The KH must stay within 6-8 dKH, preferably ~7.5. Try to decrease your KH slowly.

Although I'm sorry I do not understand your sentence involving ZeoStart1, Start1 can also cause tissue loss. Please use only the ZeoStart2 which has replaced Start1 & will not cause tissue lossBob

in one day my seryatopora it is became whyte!
i have finish zeostart1 and i have start with zeostart2 only since 4 days.
I dose 3 drops evryday(my tanks is 300 litres).
The only other product that i used is seachem buffer for magnesium since 5 days
(5 little spoons at rotate days,)because i have the magnesium at 1230 mg/l and is the first time that i use this product.
I know that the good kh is 7,5 ,but i have start since 15days with my new calcium reactor and i hold on that the calcium and kh stabilize itself.
Other product
zeoback and food 2 times at week 3 drops
aminoacid high everyday 3 drops since 1 months and half
pohls coral vitalizer 3 drops everyday since 2 months and half
phosphate 0,03
the other corals are ok!!

i stop everything??

Hi Findus, as Donatello mentioned hold Start2 for a few days. Start2 is much more concentrated than Start1. Is your solution of Start2 clear or slightly yellow?

Findus, I still beleive your tissue loss is from the elevated KH & unfortunately, this higher KH does not affect our corals immediately but 2-4 weeks later.

I'd recommend 6-8 drops of Coral-Vitalizer daily. More C-V will better form "slime-coats" on our corals increasing their vitality in nutrient-poor waters & resistence to stress.

One other thought, most saltmixes are below natural seawater levels in K+. This deficit seems to affect Seratiopora, Stylophora & montipora plates first before affecting Acropora. They will lose their red/pink color & monti-plates look drab. Acropora will show this as loss of their blue or purple colorations with a general "washed-out" appearance. If you feel this is happening, then obtain K-Balance[K-Z] & dose 1ml per 100 ltrs. net volume daily for 3 doses, then dose 1ml per 400 ltrs. net volume daily. Bob

findus ,bob e daccordo con me di sospendere x alcuni giorni zeostart2,e che coincidenza guarda caso hai montato da poche settimane il reattore di calcio,,a mio avviso puo essere tutta la serie di condidenze ad aver provocato lo sbiancamento
ti suggerisce di dosare phol coral vitalizer da 6 a 8 goccie al giorno x ridare vita e rinforzare i tessuti
acenna anche al K-Balance in dose di 1 ml ogni 400 litri x 3 giorni

Hi Findus, yes, I really think it's from your high KH & other corals may yet follow the Seratiopora. You'll know in another week or so if this parameter abnormality will affect any of your other corals. Reduce the KH slowly by turning off your Ca Rx then supplementing Ca/Mg as needed to keep Ca >400<450/Mg >1200<1400, while monitoring the KH to ~7.5. Then dial-in your Ca Rx with frequent monitoring of the parameters until you confident they are stable If your P04's increase, then begin Start2 at your above doses again. Bob

-Ora ho anche un porites che si è schiarito molto e una montipora arancio che ha un pezzetto di rametto che è sbiancato(che ho prontamente tagliato)

-Altra grande novità è che i coralli stanno scurendo vistosamente in particolare un acropora gialla

-leggendo un altro post ho letto del carbone: proprio qualche giorno fa ho inserito la mia calza di carbone in un passaggio piu forzato di dove era prima(ora l'ho rimesso dove era prima)
potrebbe anche questo aver influito??
