  • What to do in Nice

I hope that you guys don't mind an english post, but my french is terrible. I am going to a business trip to Nice at the end of the month and have a free afternoon and a free day. What would you guys recommend I spend my time doing?

    Thanks!

Monte Carlo, if you get to much money, you can always move there, no taxes, you never know

Its a good place to do nothing but walk, shop, eat and drink. Its getting cool so the beaches won't be as fun - but its a really short trek to Monaco/Monte Carlo which is beautiful, you can do it on your own but if you go into Provence you should take a tour. If you have one day I'd do Monaco and visit the casino and trek around. I spent several months based in Paris and got to the Med quite a bit.

Here's a good site that pretty much wraps up what there is to do within walking distance.

Oh and of course like most or Europe, but it seems like even moreso in Nice - it is a great morning city. Patisseries/Boulangeries open early with fresh baked goods and espresso. Little old ladies sweeping their patios. Its great, don't sleep in.

I'll shut up and let the French people speak. ;-)

if you visit the casino, dress up, the wont let you in without it, i tried the first time
it's really nice there, rent a car and drive around and look, is so much to see,
there is also a artists market in St Tropez at the harper, in the evening, but its quit a drive from nice,

Chuck, if you just want to stroll around, try the Promenade des Anglais. Make sure you give your wife a limit on the credit card though.
If you like to visit art museums, check out the Musée d'Art Moderne. Nice is beautiful, and that's why many of the greatest artists in history spent some time there (Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Miro and many more). There are several galleries exhibiting their work...
Not as famous as many other places, but visit Villa Arson if you get a chance. Interesting architecture, nice artwork, great gardens and you will have an incredible view over the roof tops of Nice all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.
Fish eat poop....tastes just like chicken.

zoos and gorgonians are cool, but isn't it really cold there this time of year? I was looking at the temps and it doesn't seem all that warm.
