  • BK 300 int or Deltec AP702

For a aquarium of 840 liters, I doubt between 300 internal BK or Deltec AP720. Both that fitted in my collector of the oil to me.
I have good reference of both, but not as of them daria me better yield.

I have a BK300 External running on my tank, and a AP702 running on a tank curing rock (just experimenting with it). They are both incredible skimmers and you would be happy with either. But the BK is better. Bubbles are more fine (not a LOT, but some) in the BK, its also deadly silent and uses a lot less power.

I'm guessing you have a height issue since you're not looking at the 300 Ext?

The advantage to the 702 is that its a re-circulating skimmer. You can gravity feed it from your overflow - or you will need a third pump to feed it.

They are both incredible skimmers. The 702 operates as good as my old H&S A200 2x1260 and that thing was great. Good choices, have fun!

Oh and if you don't care about internal/external - you can get a 2x1260 internal H&S for $1,200 or $1,300 - can't remember. Its a great deal IMO.

Thanks Miguelito and Orion76, to answer to me.
At the moment I have a Schuran 200. Although I improved my previous installation, I am not satisfied completely with its yield.
Of my investigation, I have reached the conclusion that AP702 or BK 300, they mejorarian my installation. The doubt I have it in the space that occupies and consumption energia. The height of external BK 300, 80 cm. she is too much for the space that I arrange, although the posiblidad to feed it directly on my overflow is good solution. Desire not to add another pump.
There is much difference in the yield between 300 BK internal and the external one?

Re int vs external - personally I like external better because you can skim tank water only, and not recirculate sump water. But there are ways to do it with internal skimmers also. I think I've reat that Klaus believes there is no difference, and I would take his work over mine anyday.

You would love either skimmer, and not need to add a pump to either. Run the 702 and gravity feed it. Run the BK300 Int and you don't need a pump. If it were up to me, I would choose the BK300. It is a monster. You have seen the pictures I'm sure. But you would love the Deltec if you decided on that one also. You can't lose. ;-)

I think in your 200 gallon tank the yield will be exactly the same with either, both skimmers are way oversized for your tank
