I have a 90 gallon Barebottom LPS dominated reef slowing going towards more sps (25% currently) 45 gallon sump. Looking to go from venturi to a NW skimmer. I have been eyeing the Schuran Jetskim 150 and the 200, also the H&S 150 model. Just wondering what everyones thoughts were on these for my system, thanks in advance.

Skimmers
Hi
Schuran's are not NWs they are venturi only. The build quality is however superb.
However I recently spoke to someone who added an Aquabee 2000 to a Jetskim150 with a needlwheel impellor and it is performing 100 times better than it was.
I can't see any reason to do the same with an Eheim 1260 on the larger 200 model.
Not seen H&S in the UK yet but I understand they are coming.
We have had Deltec here for some time and they are considered to be the top brand.

Thanks for the posts, I guess i left a bit off in my origional post, Looking at NW's like euro-reef,deltec,asm (locals in my area have them) but am curious about the schuran's and the H&S's. What I have gathered so far is that the euroreefs have had some pump/lineup changes and I seem to see alot of RC comments about modifying them, I really just want to buy a good skimmer out of the box and not modify anything. The asm's seem to bring high praise from the masses but many of the praisers have little experience besides maybe a hang on tiny skimmer (and they leak?). I am brand new to this site and from looking at it yesteday have drawn the conclusion that most people on this site are a bit more worldly.

I think the schuran is not so bad.
The pump (aqua bee 2000/1) is for myself a little bit loud.
There is the eheim in advantage.
Also, the lifespan of the eheim is longer as from (aqua bee).
The skimmer from schuran are good processed, but the air intake is often congested from the salt.
With H&S i cannot say.Steffen

I purchased a Schuran 250 in 2004, recommended pump is Red Dragon 12m3 and the thing is huge, it seemed like a great skimmer and was built really well.
Unfortunately I had it shipped to me from Germany twice and it broke in shipping both times
On the 3rd try I went with the BK300 instead which arrived intact so I never actually got to use the Schuran. I do have a nice Red Dragon 12,000 l/h left from it to mix my salt water with, works like a charm400 gallon reef, Bubble King 300, I~Spin, 2 x 10,000K BLV 400W, 2 x 20,000K Radium 400W, 2 x 6,400K Osram 400W, Schuran Jetstream 1, AquaController Pro

I know someone that is using a AQ300 with the AquaKat self-cleaning head. Now that it has been running for a while now I can tell you that it performs very well. A PIA to clean though (and yes, you still have to clean the head every month). Very well constructed and works as designed but, I wouldn't hesitate to tell him to get a BK and save the hassle not to mention all the electric he is using for the AQ300.

The AQ300 is some really nice gear. But like you said, the BK is so much easier too clean with it's wide neck and short body.400 gallon reef, Bubble King 300, I~Spin, 2 x 10,000K BLV 400W, 2 x 20,000K Radium 400W, 2 x 6,400K Osram 400W, Schuran Jetstream 1, AquaController Pro
