  • Size recommendation for a bk skimmer

Hi, Can someone give me a recommendation on a bk skimmer for my tank. I have a 120gal tank, 50 gallon sump, and 20 gal prop tank. The sump and prop tank are in the basement and the main tank is on the fist floor. Also is it better to have a internal or external? I currently have a mrc1 skimmer and it does not seem to be doing that great. I even upgraded pump and new beckett.

    Thanks
    Mark

    BK200 will be fine.

I personally think the externals skim better (in any skimmer) but the maker of BK's recommends the internals if i'm not mistaken (because it uses only one pump). I don't think he sees one performing better than the other though.

I agree with Madison, the BK200 should be large enough but you could also go with a BK250. That way, if you ever increase the size of your system you don't have to upgrade.
